The ant-lion
The Ant-Lion is an adventure story for children (8-12), set against a backdrop of wild Africa and Maasai culture.
Tony has been working on The Ant-Lion, and a series of sequels, for a number of years. As well as being the Treasurer of Write Now!, he has contributed massively to the grammatical and editorial correctness of our work over that time. If there is a semi-colon to be inserted, or an exclamation mark to be excised, Tony will know.
His passion for The Ant-Lion is well-known too, and he has been reading it to us regularly, often thinly disguised as pertinent pieces for tasks and competitions! We have seen The Ant-Lion grow, through dedicated editing and re-drafting into the model of what we as a group are striving for: polished, pacy, and well written prose.
Tony has poured all his experience of twenty years spent as a vet in East Africa into the book and its four sequels. He has travelled widely in the area and worked closely with the Maasai, so he knows his subject well!
